The Lady Braves have made their first major signing for season 2010 with Lukas Carey being announced as the Head Coach of the team.
Carey who has previously coached in the SEABL with Frankston will be relocating in the next month to Bendigo to take over the reins of the Lady Braves for season 2010 and beyond. He brings with him a well credentialed resume with coaching experience at elite junior and senior levels across the country and a reputation as a very well organised and dedicated coach.
‘I am excited about the appointment to coach the Lady Braves and look forward to continuing the great work undertaken by the previous coach. The program will be shaped a little differently in season 2010 and beyond with the Lady Braves not only suiting up a SEABL Championship team but also for the first time a SEABL Development League team.’ Carey said.
‘The priority for us is to provide pathways both on and off the court for country girls. We will be implementing an up-tempo style of play that will be good to watch and hopefully not fun to play against.’ Carey added.
The Bendigo Basketball association has been working hard in the off season to link the new look Woman’s program with a new group of sponsors that can assist in the promotion and profile building of the Lady Braves Program.
Many exciting sponsorship and player recruitment announcements will be made in the upcoming weeks.
